THE TEAM
Having gained over a decade and a half of audio engineering experience, we are delighted to welcome Chris back to the building where his career first began, now as Creative Director of The Attic. During his time away, he worked at two highly regarded post houses and gathered a wealth of technical and creative experience which he is keen to share with the team. An accomplished musical sound designer, Chris has a passion for rhythm and timing which he delights in using to create atmospheric audio environments from scratch, aided and abetted by his addiction to the purchasing of virtual instruments. As well as spending his spare time creating electronic music, Chris is a keen chef who can frequently be found cooking up a feast for his wife and 2 small children.
CHRIS SOUTHWELL
Having formerly been the head of promos at an industry renowned voiceover agency, Coral has developed exceptional knowledge of the audio world which she intends to put to good use as a Bookings Producer in The Attic. Coral’s agency background means she understands the post-production process more than most and she still frequently uses these skills, so let her know if you need help casting your next project. Outside of The Attic, Coral loves to have a good old Irish jig around and is dog mum to her gorgeous barrel of a puggle, Bruce.
CORAL CLAYTON
Growing up in a remote corner of Buckinghamshire, where there was not a whole lot to do, provided Tom the opportunity to get a head start in developing his audio skills. This has seen him quickly rise through the ranks and excel far beyond what his youthful exterior would have you believe. With significant experience in 3 prominent studios already under his belt, his passion for sound and love of a challenge mean he is extremely excited to take the next step in jointly heading up The Attic. All this dedication keeps him generally tied to the mixing desk but, on the odd occasion he does venture out, you’ll usually find him eating a giant burger or turning the music up to 11.
Tom Rouse
After originally attending Falmouth University to study animation and visual effects, Sam found his true calling whilst working on the audio for his fellow students’ final pieces. He was then determined to pursue his new-found passion for foley and sound design and swiftly gained a position in the transfer bay of a top Soho post-house. Rapidly working his way up the audio ladder, Sam soon discovered a love of a wide variety of projects, so naturally jumped at the opportunity of jointly heading up The Attic. A travel fanatic through and through, Sam spends his time outside the studio either planning his next big adventure or actually embarking on a journey to a far-flung land. He’s also an avid cyclist about town, so look out for him in a park near you.

ABOUT
What is The Attic?
We’re a small, budget-friendly sound studio in the heart of Soho, specialising in a wide range of audio work. Headed up by an exceptionally accomplished promo engineer with two super talented junior engineers who already have significant experience of a vast array of recording and sound design.
How is it different from where you’ve been before?
The Attic consists of two smaller-sized studios which allows us to be more affordable without having to compromise on expertise, skills or tech. Less space means fewer attendees, but you’ll always be given the option of joining remotely via Zoom if there are more people needing to oversee the session.
What kind of work do we do?
Our Creative Director has worked across all the mainstream broadcast channels and has a special interest in promos, documentaries and podcasts. On top of this, we love working on as many different jobs as possible including ADR, short films, corporates, demos, showreels, music videos, Source Connect VO records etc etc. Give us a call and see how we can help with your next project.
